Alina Savin has been admitted with the Bucharest Bar in 2002 and a mediator since 2007. In 2006, she has been awarded a master’s degree in business law.

As legal counsel within Romania’s Ministry of Public Finance, she has represented the state in numerous lawsuits for two years. She acted as a litigation lawyer in various cases, from cases involving acquisitive prescriptions, vacant successions or civil action in criminal lawsuits, to cases of fiscal-administrative contentious.

Alina has a vast experience in general business law, with a specialisation in corporate and commercial law, fiscal and administrative litigation, real estate business, collective layoffs, collective negotiations on behalf of the employer, legal opinion, due diligence, memoranda, arbitration, as well as client representation or negotiation in relation to public authorities. She has been involved in a wide range of complex transactions, such as:

  • assisting the National Printing Office for the biometric passport project, in relation to other state institutions and private stakeholders;
  • team coordination for the due diligence report on contractual risks, on behalf of A&D Pharma, Sensiblu, and Mediplus;
  • member of the legal team that assisted the Academy of Economic Sciences in the handling and pursuit of real estate retrocession claims;
  • member of the legal team that handled the purchase of the Times Hotel, and the negotiations for the Golden Tulip franchise agreement;
  • consulting Supreme Chocolat in corporate and commercial law issues;
  • member of the legal team that provided the analysis and project for the restructuring and outsourcing of editorial activities at Adevarul Holding. Also provided counselling on intellectual property, commercial, corporate and fiscal law, as well as on administrative contentious matters;
  • counselling for Salomon SaS France on legal issues regarding fiscal law and administrative contentious matters;
  • counselling for the Mercadia Group, including Mic.ro and Minimax, on legal issues related to fiscal and commercial law;
  • counselling for ArcelorMittal Construction Romania on legal issues regarding commercial, corporate and insolvency law.

Alina Savin has also written two books of legal comments on Romania’s new Civil Code and on the 2011 amendments to the country’s Labour Code.
